What is courage?

Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear. ~Ambrose Redmoon

When I was in school, A teacher told me two stories.

1)
A man (let’s call him Jack) was in the middle of a war. He saw his brother die right in front of him. In his anger he went blazing up a hill into a heavily fortified enemy camp, killed all the people there, and became a hero.

2)
Another man (let’s call him Mike), was also in the war. But he was a medic. He heard someone groaning in a field, and even knowing that the enemy regularly patrolled the area, he went to try and pull the injured man out to a safe place. While he was tending to the injured man, he heard people approaching. He hid both himself and the injured man under the bodies of dead soldiers till an enemy patrol had gone past. He then pulled the man to safety.

Which man do you think was braver?
