If I saw you in Heaven

Knowing that I’m a Christian, many people are curious to know, will they go to Heaven?

The strange thing is, many people that ask me this question say that they don’t believe in any God.

My response? Why does it matter to you if you don’t believe?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad to be asked, but if people don’t believe in God, why do they believe in Heaven?

I love living my life, and am not in any rush to end it. But I’m not going to fear what comes after death, because I have something to believe in.

My question to you isn’t “Will you go to heaven?”

“What do you really want to believe in?”

An Invitation

Easter is coming!

It’s the biggest event of the Christian yearly calender and there is no way you should miss it!
What does it involve?

Chocolate, friends, church and the most inspiring story you’ve ever heard in your life!

If you want to know about what Easter is really about, please click on the link below, and find your nearest Jesus Lifehouse!

And even better news…

If you can’t come, you can watch it on-line!

Whatever you do, don’t miss out on the biggest celebration of the year.

What does Easter mean to you?

It’s a New Day

It’s a New Life!

These are the opening words to one of my favourite songs.

I have been unable to post for a little while (sorry about that) but now I am back up and running!

Ok, the big news…

I moved to Sendai!

It’s a beautiful city with a wonderful heart. The people here are great, and I want to explore the whole town!

So the topic today?

Seize the Day

There are so many opportunities that come our way. It’s hard to just really figure out what to do. Do we turn left, right, go straight, make a U-turn… one thing is for sure, without making any decisions, we are just parked (Or, if like me you can’t drive, then standing still).

When someone gives you an opportunity, make a decision! whether it’s yes or no, make it not just a choice but a direction that you want to go in.
It could be a job opportunity, a date or just an invitation to a party, but think about where this decision will take you.

Do you want this type of job? will it take you to the career you truly want?
Do you like this person? Do you see yourself getting any further than just dating?
Is this party with people you like? Will it be a great opportunity to meet like-minded people?
If the answer to any of these questions is “No“, then of course the choice is obvious.
But when the answer is “Yes“, then don’t be afraid to grab hold of the opportunity and follow it to wherever it takes you.

What choices will you make today? Where will they take you?

Perfect Vision

What is your vision type?

There are 3 types of “vision” that I’m aware of.

A personal vision.

This is where you have a goal for yourself. It will help you, make you better skilled, and it’s something you love. And it’s all for you alone.

Others oriented vision.

This is something you want to do for someone else. Either you decided to do it for them, or they requested it of you. It has very little to do with personal vision.

A bigger picture vision.

This is a vision that incorporates your talents, gifts and a love of other people. It is one in which you seek to change yourself for the better, help others and make a difference in the world.
None of the three types of vision are bad, but which one are you aiming for?

What’s your vision?

The Right Balance

I grew up in an amazing family, and no matter what mistakes I made, they loved me. They also loved me enough to tell me off!

A good balance is essential to a good upbringing. Discipline corrects you when you are wrong and love constantly surrounds you.

My surrogate sister here in Japan, She always tells me when I need to change my attitude!

It’s not only the same for raising children, but for any good relationship.
With friends, colleagues, your partner or anyone with whom you have regular contact, we need to be strong enough to tell each other what we feel and what is right, whether it’s “I love you”, “I want to hang out”, “What are you doing after work?” or ( at the other end) “Please don’t gossip”,  “Take it easy”, or “You didn’t send that fax yesterday”.

What attitude do you have?

Is it an attitude of thinking of other people?

Or one of thinking of how you want them to be for your own sake?

I’ve been thinking about the importance of Love. Yep, you’ve guessed it, Valentine’s day is coming!

I’m single, so many people would hunk that this day has no meaning for me.

But that’s not the case.

I want to use this upcoming event to bless all those I love by telling them just that. I love them.

But I’m not going to wait. I want the people I know and care about to know right here right now.

I love you.

Whether you are someone from my past, someone whom I’m in contact with now, or someone I’ve yet to meet, the fact is that to some degree (admittedly stronger for some people) I love you.

I’m so glad that I was given a heart that can’t hate, and is predetermined to like others.

This is what I think of real love:

Love is never giving up.
Love is caring more for others than for yourself.
Love is to not want what you don’t have.
Love is to not show off, be proud or, forcing yourself on others,
Love isn’t always “me first,”
Love is to not fly off the handle,
Nor to keep remembering the bad things other people have done,
Love is to not be happy when someone is begging you for something,
Love is to love the truth
Put up with anything,
Trusts In your faith always,
Always look for the best,
Never look back, but keep going to the end.

Love never dies.

I want this to be my ideal, and to aim for this type of love in all I do.

Some people ask me what “Journaling” is.

The short answer is “Read the Bible and write down what God is saying to you”

The easiest way:

Step 1) Make some free time
Step 2) Read a short part of the Bible
Step 3) While your reading it’s guaranteed that something will touch your heart.
Step 4) write it down in a short summary and plan to take action on it
Step 5) write down a short prayer and relax, drink a cup of tea if you like because you’ve already finished!

It takes me less than 10 minutes on the train in the morning.

Do you journal?

Trust me, it’s great!

Stay tuned for more info about journaling.

Challenge – Growth

In every experience that you go through, there is the potential to learn something new and gain something.

Whether it’s a good or bad experience, you can learn a lot about yourself and grow at the same time.

There was this girl called Esther, who got married to a king (please bear in mind that this was a long time ago) and he loved her very much, but he didn’t know about her background. A really important politician later ruled that all people of Esther’s religion should be killed. Now Esther would have been safe if she didn’t say anything, but her cousin reminded her that all the people she loved would die, and that she would never really be safe. She became strong and told the king about herself, and he stopped the politician from carrying out his plans.

This was not a happy experience for Esther, and it was challenging for her, but she told the truth and was accepted for who she was. She learned that being honest in the face of losing everything was actually what saved not only her, but thousands of others.

There may be some perfect days in this world, but we know that we will always face some kind of challenge every day.
Yet every challenge will bring a new reward – Whether it’s experience, something physical (like a bonus) or just something that you’ve learned, it’s a reward.
No matter the outcome, you are a changed person, and if you go through every day with the right attitude, you will come out stronger.

This is what I looked like most of the time about 3 1/2 years ago

Taken a few months ago, a complete change of heart

What experiences have you had today? What did you learn?

Real life Drama

Have you ever noticed that no matter how great a drama is, it’s so unrealistic that it’s laughable?

I love watching Japanese, Taiwanese and Korean Dramas, it gives me something to talk about with friends, and the ones I watch have a ‘feel good’ factor.

But let’s face it, none of the characters are real.

There are amazing people out there though. From real life and fiction both.

There was this guy called Boaz, who fell in love with a widow called Ruth. He was older than her so he thought that he didn’t have a chance. but he still treated her like a princess without expectation. When he found out that she liked him, he did all he could in his power to get his family’s permission to marry her. They had an amazing family and everyone was affected by their love.

Call me old fashioned, but I think that it’s one of the most beautiful love stories of all time. And it’s real.

The same goes with our lives, some people just live as though they are waiting for a storyline to happen. Well I’ve got some great news for you!

You are in the middle of your own real-life drama!

Are you dreaming about unrealistic fantasies, or opening your eyes to the opportunities around you?

Are you missing out?

I read something great this morning.

The whole focus was on this amazing world, and that so many things happen in it that we don’t see. I love this world, and although I can’t say that this world is perfect, I think that for me this planet is exactly how it needs to be, and is going to be better.

This wonderful place is full of great things. None of which cost a thing to create. Animals, trees, rivers, oceans (yes, people in Japan can of course still love the ocean) and people!

It’s easy to just be so busy just waking up, working and going to sleep that we can miss everything around us.

I went to Jesus Lifehouse Hong Kong a couple of years ago, and spent all my time just meeting people, going to church, and looking around at what was happening around me.

I want to do that more here in Tokyo. I’ll go to work, go to Jesus Lifehouse Tokyo, and just look around and meet people, because I’m more than just sleep and work.

When I get to Sendai, I’ll work, meet people and go to Jesus Lifehouse Sendai.

Are you starting to see a pattern?

This is my Life, and I want it to be great and filled with memories of this beautiful world, not just passed through because I’m too busy to appreciate it.

I want to take more time to really appreciate everything and everyone around me. How much time are you spending on that?
