So what did kill the cat? (Was it curiosity?)

Everyone know the proverb curiosity killed the cat, but is it really the case?

While I was reading a book I came across this phrase that everyone knows and takes for granted. And because the book I was reading wasn’t really all that interesting anyway, I looked it up. What book? Not telling 🙂

The fact is, that although curiosity can put people (and cats) in dangerous situations, it won’t kill you if you’re careful.

Quite ironic, considering that the original proverb is care killed the cat, isn’t it?

So what is it that really we should be worried about?

That is the answer in itself.
Worry
The expression care killed the cat, is referring to the fact that if we do nothing but worry, thinking about “our cares and woes” (forgive the olde English, but it’s where the origin is) we can waste away through nine lives. But we have only one life. Why waste it on worry?

It’s in our nature to worry, to think “What If”
That is what really hurts us.

Stop thinking about the “What ifs” in life. Start thinking about What IS

If you love, then love with all your heart. If you have faith, then believe with all your soul, if you are intelligent, then use your mind fully. If you have worries, look back on the last three things, and be thankful.

What worries, cares and woes can you give up today?

Something I gained in Lifegroup

When I first went to Lifegroup, I had no idea what it was about, only that some people got together to study the Bible,

and I couldn’t think of anything more boring than that other than watching paint dry.

Since that was my only other choice most Sundays, I decided to give it a try. I’d already decided to be a Christian, so why not learn more about it.

When I got there, I didn’t know what to think. There was a group of people, sitting and having coffee together (or in my case, hot chocolate) and chatting and laughing.

They looked like normal people! Well, here is the breaking news…
They Are!
I was confused, weren’t we supposed to be sitting down and seriously diving “deep” into the Bible and talking about weird stuff?

What I really found was a group of friends. Not just people passing through my life, and not people who were there the one week, and gone the next. These people were there for me every week.

More than that, They were there for me during the week too; having breakfast together, and celebrating my birthday.
Every low point in my life those friends are still there for me, and every high point, those same friends are right there to be happy with me.
